How travel works

If you live in a different city from the Shoot Producer, abbywinters.com will usually pay for flights/train / similar transport to the Shoot Producer most suitable for your shoots (there, and back again).

“They were so kind in the Netherlands… I have been traveling for four years and it was the best travel experience I’ve ever had!!!🤩🤩🤩” (Madison A, Aug 2022)

It’s better for everyone if we organise several shoots in one trip, but that’s not always possible. We’ll always let you know what shoots are planned for a given trip.

It works like this:

  1. We discuss the types of shoots you want to do (and, what we need)
  2. We identify the most suitable Shoot Producer for those shoots
  3. We work out a rough schedule – how many days are needed to make these shoots, what your availability is
  4. We formally book the shoots with you and the Shoot Producer
  5. We check in on your grooming several times (you’ll send images several times in the lead-up to the shoot day; more info)
  6. You complete our Pre-shoot checklist, to make sure we’re on the same page
  7. We book your travel and accommodation (more info on accommodation below)
  8. A week before you’re due to depart, we give you the travel details
  9. You travel to the shoot

Models who live in the same city as a Shoot Producer do not have travel paid for – intra-city transport is at the model’s own expense (for example, public transport, or “gas money” (“petrol money”).

If you wish to stay longer in a city (for example, catching up with a friend, or sightseeing), that’s usually fine, but you’d need to cover your own accommodation expenses, of course!

Models who fly through many time zones (for example, Los Angeles to Amsterdam) will usually get one or two rest days to acclimatize to the new time zone. Shorter flights (for example, Sydney to Brisbane) may occur on the same day, or with one overnight stay.

Some tips on traveling with us.

Accommodation / Shooting location

We often use Airbnb (or similar) for model accommodation, and to be economic, Shoot Producers will often create some or all of the scheduled shoots at that Airbnb location.

“It is a lot more fancy than I am used to! I didn’t want to spill anything on this floor or else I would ruin it! The place was amazing. There was a stovetop, which was important because I could not afford to go out every night. There were also clean towels and shampoo so I could be clean. The bed was made, the place was ready for me. It was close to the center. I could walk to everything! It was well located and it had a lot of public transportation nearby. Getting back and forth was really easy.” (Gizela, Sep 2021)

Normally, only you would stay at this home, but from time to time we may have multiple models in one town for several shoots (some of the shoots will likely be together with you), and so we’d organise a larger home for all models to stay in together. Each model would have its own bedroom.

“There was a security guard at the gate of the community. I felt like I was in a safe area. It was nice to be in a gated community. It was close to everything on the Strip and it was easy to get to and from the airport…It was the nicest place in Vegas I’ve ever stayed! I could never afford something that close to the Strip. It was a really nice place.” (Anika V, Dec 2021)
