Pre-shoot grooming images

We have several pages on Grooming:

Overview of grooming

What a grooming issue is and isn’t

How to provide us grooming images (you are here)

Tips for dealing with grooming issues.

Now;

We have two similar-but-different sets of self-images we need from you. Check the message we sent for the type we need right now.

Test Shots are a set of images we need to assess your suitability for working with us, in general. More info on test shots – this page here is not about Test Shots.

Grooming Shots are a set of images we require of you to show any grooming issues that might affect your booked shoot. That’s what we’re talking about here on this page!

Why we need grooming images

In the lead-up to your shoot, we’ll ask you to send us pictures of yourself 🤳 several times, so we can assess your grooming. The key to grooming problems is identifying them early📆, so we have time to take steps to fix them (or maybe just so you know something is not a grooming issue after all).

We want to make shoots with you, and you want to make shoots with us, and if there is a grooming problem, we’ll work with you to fix it, and reschedule the shoot to when it’s (likely to be) fixed. Maybe that’s one or two days, or a few weeks? We still want to work with you! More info on our Grooming philosophy.

“The grooming photos were okay too. They were easy for me to do, even without somebody helping me” (Lisette, Aug 2021).

What if there’s no one to help me make Grooming Images?

Best is to get a friend 👯‍♀️ to help take nudie grooming pics of you, but if you don’t have any of those types of friends available, here’s how to do it on your own.

What should I use to make the grooming images?

Any smartphone 📱 made in the last five years is fine for this. Flash is required. Some camera apps on your smartphone can add filters that automatically remove blemishes (sometimes called “beauty mode”). While that might be nice for Snapgram and TikChat, it provides us with a misleading impression of your real grooming. “Beauty filter” and similar effects must be turned off.

Or, a point-and-shoot or DSLR camera, with the flash on. 📸

A webcam image is not ok (no flash).

What if I don’t provide (good enough) grooming images?

If you don’t provide images that lets us see what we need, we’ll just have to ask you to do it all over again! 🤯

If you don’t, we may not be able to go ahead with your shoot. 😒

What do you do with the grooming images?

Grooming images are for internal company use only. Our Model Liaison’s look to these images so they can either confirm you are good to go ahead with your booked shoot, or to help them advise you on what needs to change for you to become ready for a booked shoot. 🧳

The images may be shared with your Shoot Producer (for example, “Mary has this bruise – do you think you could still make a shoot?”), and with other people in our company with a view to finding a way we can make a shoot happen as-scheduled. 📅

Grooming images are never published or released online, or anywhere else.

Per our Privacy Policy for models, these images are never published or shared to people who don’t have a clear and present business need to see them.

What if I do have some grooming ‘issues’?

Even if you know have grooming issues, please still send us grooming images. This helps us understand the nature and severity of the issue (or to let you know, it’s actually not an issue for us!😌).

Our Model Liaisons are friendly experts. Maybe the issue you find is not actually a problem for us, maybe some clothing 👗👚 could cover it in the shoot (though that’s not always possible), or maybe our model Liaisons can provide some helpful tips – or to let you know you’re looking great! 👌

What should groomings images should look like?

Below are a set of images from the lovely Livia V. This is what we need yours to look like (Livia does have some small grooming issues, but none of them were a problem, and her shoot went ahead).

These are thumbnails, but Livia sent us the full size pics.

Here’s a little checklist for getting started:

  • [ ] Flash on
  • [ ] Clearly show each area of your body
  • [ ] Closeups and wide shots, as shown below
  • [ ] No fancy filters (especially important, turn “beauty filter” off)
  • [ ] No special poses
  • [ ] All of your body / part in the frame
  • [ ] All of the shots taken

Thanks Livia! 👊🏾
